Install 3M Drivers
_**Before connecting the scanner**_
to your computer, you must install the 3M drivers for the CR5400 scanner. Perform the following steps to install the drivers:
- Log in to Raptor.
Select Support in the left navigation pane and click Go to Knowledge Base.
- On the Raptor Support Center, click Go to Downloads.
- It is recommended that you reinstall the full Raptor suite (click Install All Components). However, if you only want to install the 3M drivers, click Advanced Install Options.
- From the drop-down menu, select Install 3M Scanner Drivers to download the file.
- Once the installation is complete, connect the scanner to your computer.
- For the best results, restart your computer after installing and connecting the scanner.
Insert and Scan ID
With the CR5400 Duplex Scanner, you can insert the ID without worrying about which way it is inserted. After inserting the ID, you should see a third of the ID sticking out of the scanner.
If the ID drops into the scanner, press the white button on top of the scanner and the ID will pop up.
Note:
Do not force the ID into the scanner; it may result in damage to the scanner lever.
Perform the following steps to scan an ID:
- In the navigation menu, select Sign In/Sign Out.
- On the Sign In/Sign Out workspace, the Sign In button is selected by default. If it is not already selected, click Sign In.
- Click the button for who you are signing in (Visitor, Contractor or Volunteer).
- Insert the state-issued identification card into the scanner.
- Click Scan ID.
Troubleshooting Stuck ID with CR5400 Stylus
If the ID gets stuck in the CR5400 scanner, perform the following steps to remove it with the scanner stylus:
- Locate the stylus on the top of the scanner; it's a black square with an indention on the side.
- Using the indention on the side of the scanner, push the stylus upward and pull up to remove it.
- Turn the scanner upside down and locate the card-sized slot on the bottom of the scanner.
- Insert the stylus into the square hole on one end of the slot to manually eject the ID.
