Notability: Enable Auto-Backup and/or iCloud Sync

By default, Notability stores all notes locally on the iPad however certain MDMs may delete and reinstall the app when performing updates. Deleting and reinstalling Notability will delete all notes that are stored locally on the device. This is why it is highly recommended by Notability to enable auto-backups and/or iCloud sync.

Auto-Backups

From the Notability Launch Page, select the three-horizontal lines from the top-left then select the Gear Icon from the navigation panel.

From the Settings page, select Auto-Backup then select Google Drive from the service options. You may customize the options in the Google Drive Settings section or leave as default.

iCloud Sync

Please note, this option is only available if you have already signed into your Apple ID on your iPad. If you would like to utilize this option, please sign into your Apple ID in your iPad’s Setting page. If you have not yet created an Apple ID with your District Email, you may select Sign in to your iPad then select “Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?” and follow the prompts to create one.

After you’ve confirmed that you are signed into your Apple ID, from Notability’s Settings page, select iCloud then toggle on iCloud Syncing.
